Insurance & Billing
Anderson Regional Health System is committed to providing high quality, compassionate health care to you and your family. In order to maintain our high standards of health care delivery in the most cost-effective manner, an upfront payment is required. Operating our hospital in a cost-effective manner allows us to provide leading-edge technology to best meet your needs and maintain the high level of quality care that you have come to expect from Anderson Regional Health System. Rest assured your health care is our first and foremost concern. By paying your portion at the time of service, you will help us continue to invest in our staff, facilities and equipment, and provide our patients with excellent care.
Insurance & Billing

All patients should familiarize themselves with the terms of their insurance coverage. This will help you understand the hospital's billing procedures and charges. If there is a question about your insurance coverage, a member of the Business Services Department will contact you or a member of your family while you are here regarding information needed in order to process your claims.

If You Have Health Insurance
We will need a copy of your identification card. We also may need the insurance forms that are supplied by your employer or the insurance company. You will be asked to assign benefits from the insurance company directly to the hospital.

If You Are a Member of an HMO or PPO
Your plan may have special requirements, such as a second surgical opinion or pre-certification for certain tests or procedures. It is your responsibility to make sure the requirements of your plan have been met. If your plan's requirements are not followed, you may be financially responsible for all or part of the services rendered in the hospital. Some physician specialists may not participate in your healthcare plan and their services may not be covered.

If You Are Covered by Medicare
We will need a copy of your Medicare card to verify eligibility and process your Medicare claim. You should be aware that the Medicare program specifically excludes payment for certain items and services, such as cosmetic surgery, some oral surgery procedures, personal comfort items, hearing evaluations and others. Deductibles and co-payments also are the responsibility of the patient.

If You Are Covered by Medicaid
We will need a copy of your Medicaid card. Medicaid also has payment limitations on a number of services and items.

If You Do Not Have Insurance
As a part of Anderson Regional Health System’s mission to serve the health care needs of our community, financial assistance is available to patients who are without financial means to pay for medical services. Those who are financially or medically indigent will receive care on a non-discriminatory, objective basis in keeping with our continuing need for good stewardship of limited medical and financial resources.

If you do not have insurance or cannot pay your bill, we ask that you contact the Business Services Department so that we may assist in determining whether you qualify for any of the financial assistance programs we have available. You may contact the Business Services Department by calling 601.553.6850 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Billing Information

Anderson Regional Health System will submit bills to your insurance company and do everything possible to expedite your claim. Please remember that your policy is a contract between you and your insurance company and you have the final responsibility for payment of your hospital bill.

Your bill reflects all of the services you receive during your stay. Charges fall into two categories: a basic daily rate, which includes your room, meals, nursing care, housekeeping, etc., and charges for special services that include items your physician orders for you, such as X-rays or laboratory tests. If you have certain tests or treatments in the hospital, you may receive bills from physicians you did not see in person. These bills are for professional services rendered by these doctors in diagnosing and interpreting test results while you were a patient. Radiologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists and other specialists perform these services and are required to submit separate bills. If you have questions about these bills, please call the number printed on the statement you receive from them.

We have several payment options available to assist you in paying your bill:

  1. You may pay your bill in person by visiting Anderson Business Services at 1020 20th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301.
  2. You can make a payment visiting the Bill Pay website.
  3. You may mail a check to:

No Surprise Billing & Good Faith Estimates
Section 2799B-3 of the Public Health Service Act (PHS Act) requires health care providers and facilities to make publicly available, post on a public website of the provider or facility (if applicable), and provide a one-page notice that includes the following information in clear and understandable language:
(1) the federal restrictions on providers and facilities regarding balance billing in certain circumstances,

(2) any applicable state law protections against balance billing, and

(3) information on contacting appropriate state and federal agencies if an individual believes a provider or facility has violated the restrictions against balance billing.
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
