Who Can Volunteer?

It is in the spirit of giving that the Volunteer Auxiliary began at Anderson in 1982. Each charter member gave from their heart to serve patients and visitors. That same spirit of compassion continues today.

A volunteer can be anyone over the age of 18 with a desire to meet the needs of the community. We have retirees, students and people who wish to give their spare time to help others. All are from various backgrounds and each brings their own special experiences and a willing heart.

What We Do?

The Volunteer Auxiliary serves the hospital, the patients and the community in innumerable ways. We comfort patients and guests who are alone, deliver flowers and cards, welcome and escort visitors, staff information desks and provide clerical help to hospital staff. Volunteers offer smiles, helping hands, caring words and thoughtful services. They give comfort and compassion to patients and families. They help at health checks, such as annual kidney and heart screenings, and assist with local blood drives, just to name a few.
